Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 20, 2026 · applies to the RigBench app on iOS and Android
Summary
RigBench does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. The app runs entirely offline, on a single device, with no account.
What data the app processes
RigBench never connects to the internet. Everything you enter — guitars, amps, effects, synths, studio gear, parts you've swapped out, string-change history, photos of your gear, and any notes — is saved only locally on your device, using SwiftData (Apple's on-device storage framework) on iOS or Room (the Android Jetpack storage library, built on SQLite) on Android. This data:
- is never sent off your device,
- is never accessible to the app's developer or to any third party,
- is deleted when you delete the app.
The app can take a photo with your camera, or add one from your photo library, for a piece of gear's record. Photos are stored on your device only, alongside everything else, and are never uploaded anywhere. RigBench asks for camera access only at the moment you choose to take a photo; adding a photo from your library uses the system picker, which does not give the app any broader access to your photo library.
RigBench lets you export your whole collection to a JSON file. You start the export yourself, deliberately, and you decide where that file goes (e.g. to Files, a cloud drive, or a message) — RigBench never sends it anywhere on its own or automatically.
What the app does not do
- Does not require an account, sign-in, or registration.
- Does not collect identifying data (name, email address, location, phone number).
- Does not use analytics, usage statistics, or tracking tools.
- Does not show ads.
- Does not use third-party SDKs that could collect data.
- Does not access your location or microphone.
- Does not share any data with third parties, because it does not collect any.
Bug reports through TestFlight / Google Play testing
If you're testing the app through Apple TestFlight or a Google Play testing track and you submit feedback (for example a TestFlight screenshot report), that report is handled by Apple or Google under their own testing-program privacy policies — it isn't a RigBench feature, and we have no control over what data Apple or Google process as part of it. More information: Apple's privacy policy, Google's privacy policy.
Children
The app doesn't collect data from anyone, children included, so there's no separate child-data safeguard here — there's nothing to protect.
Changes to this policy
If the app's scope changes (for example, if collection import or sync is ever added), this policy will be updated alongside that release, and the date at the top of this page will change.
