Privacy Policy

Summary

Core War Studio does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. The app has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it does not connect to the internet.

What data the app processes

Everything you create in the app stays on your own devices:

  • Warriors — your Redcode programs are saved as plain .red files in the app's library folder.
  • Tournaments, hills and benchmark results — saved on the device using SwiftData, Apple's on-device storage framework.
  • App state — small items such as which bundled examples have already been installed are kept on the device.

None of this is ever sent to XOR A Binary Research or to any third party, and we have no access to it.

iCloud Drive

If you are signed in to iCloud, the app keeps its warrior library in its folder in your own iCloud Drive, so your warriors are available in the Files app and on your other Apple devices. That storage is provided and handled by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. The developer cannot see or access your iCloud Drive. If iCloud is not available, the library stays on the device. Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device; files in iCloud Drive remain until you delete them in the Files app.

Files you open, share and export

You can open .red files from other places and share your warriors, and you can export tournament and benchmark results as a CSV file or an image. You start each of these actions yourself and choose where the file goes (Files, a cloud drive, a message and so on). The app never sends anything anywhere on its own or automatically.

What the app does not do

  • Does not require an account, sign-in, or registration.
  • Does not collect identifying data (name, email address, location, contacts, phone number).
  • Does not use analytics, usage statistics, or tracking tools.
  • Does not show ads.
  • Does not use third-party SDKs that could collect data.
  • Does not access your camera, microphone, photos or location.
  • Does not share any data with third parties, because it does not collect any.

Beta testing through TestFlight

If you test the app through Apple TestFlight and submit feedback (for example a screenshot report or a crash report), that feedback is handled by Apple under its own TestFlight and privacy terms. It is not a feature of Core War Studio, and we have no control over what data Apple processes as part of it. See Apple's privacy policy. If you write to us directly, we use your message only to answer it.

Children

The app does not collect data from anyone, children included, so there is no separate child-data safeguard here — there is nothing to protect.

Changes to this policy

If the app's scope changes (for example, if online features such as Game Center duels or an online hill are ever added), this policy will be updated before or alongside that release, and the date at the top of this page will change.
